The confinement of egg laying hens in battery cages is disheartening. Battery cages confine egg laying hens so tightly that they cannot turn around, open their wings, and forage. Egg laying hens need freedom. We need effective laws that ban battery cages and reduce the suffering of chickens in Zimbabwe. Farmers need education on the impact of such cage system on animal welfare. Egg laying hens must be able to express normal and natural behavior. We need urgent reforms to discontinue the suffering of farmed animals. We need your support to end the suffering of farmed animals in Zimbabwe.
