Most small-scale farmers are into poultry farming in Zimbabwe. Small scale farmers raise birds such chickens for food and to earn a living. Most of the chickens are kept in cages. However, the welfare of chickens is at stake here. The cages are filthy and cause a health hazard to the chickens. Chickens deserve a clean environment, clean feed, and clean water. We need new laws to protect the welfare of chickens.
